The word “label comes from the French language and means ” naming “ – hence the meaning of ” prescription “ . This is a unwritten code of conduct , with many rules, specific to a particular social group.

It was first used during King Louis IX in France. Since then, the word has become synonymous with rules, manners, morals, culture.

In fact etiquette teaches us good manners . And while the label tells us what good manners are, they in turn show us how to act according to the rules of society in different situations.

In this article, we describe etiquette in different places, in different situations.

Etiquette or rules of conduct on the street / public places in the open /

The first and most important rule is to consider others as:

  • we speak calmly and in a quiet voice.
  • congratulations when needed.
  • to ask for help or to ask a polite question.

Even street traffic has its turn – it is generally accepted that people, especially in crowded cities to move in the specified direction on the left side or on the right side of the sidewalk, so as not to impede movement . And going in the opposite direction to the others is often a physical difficulty.

People on the street, when entering a store, supermarket or mall, should wait for those who go out to come out first. It makes sense to free up space first so that people can enter enclosed spaces.

The same goes for public elevators or smaller spaces. In public toilets (something that unfortunately sometimes doesn’t happen), there is a knock on the door before attempting to opening, and many toilets have a color mechanism that indicates it is busy.

It is customary to keep any space used clean and tidy in the form , in which it is welded, and this applies in full force to public buildings. Throwing waste on the ground is a sign of low culture.

When we are on the street, among other people, it is important to demonstrate good manners. Smoking and butting should only take place in designated areas. Often people are in a hurry and do not have time to turn to check if they have properly disposed of their garbage in the trash.

This is important because millions of passers-by can easily create an unhygienic environment.

It’s important to take care of the pets we walk down the street. Leading is a must, as it ensures the safety of others, as well as our pet.

There is also the so-called dress code – this is something quite individual . However, there are social rules that, depending on the country we are in, we are required to follow.

For example, in India, women have to walk down the street with their shoulders covered. In the Arab world, women wear a head covering / burqa /. There is more freedom and diversity in Europe, but still – clothes are important and the dress code exists here.

Etiquette of behavior in public buildings / institutions, malls, theaters, opera and others /
